When I teach presentation classes, the story telling structures I teach are Barbara Minto’s “Pyramid Principle” and the classic story structure as I learned in a storytelling class with Kevin Allison of The Story Studio. Great for structuring business documents for busy executives and for telling awesome personal stories! Between the 2 structures, most people will be all set.

But of course, there are other story structures that I derive inspiration from with the clients I work with and think that you, too, could gain some inspiration from as well:

Pixar’s rules for storytelling
Nancy Duarte’s TED talk on the structure of great speeches
Kurt Vonnegut’s view on story structure

Do you have any other story structure inspiration sources?
